Hello, my name is Raj Mcker and I'm an associate professor of nurse surgery at Johns Hopkins. I'd like to tell you about a recent wellness initiative that was just completed in concert with the Johns Hopkins Office of Well Being and Healthy at Hopkins physician and provider burnout is a significant issue in the delivery of modern clinical medicine. We sought to use the peace Education program, a unique interactive modular series to try to decrease provider burnout and improve provider wellness. The Peace Education program is a 10 modular series with each module focused on a unique theme with those themes including hope, peace, clarity and self awareness. 60 individuals signed up for our recent course. 40 individuals attended at least one course and 25 individuals actually completed the course. We asked each participant to complete a validated metric of self reported well being before and after the course, we found that those individuals who attended at least one session had a trend towards improved self reported well being. And we found that those who completed the course had a clinical and statistically significant improvement in self reported well being. We live in a busy world with significant stressors and significant burnout. The Peace Education program provides a free and unique interactive approach to try to minimize burnout and improve wellness. If you'd like to learn more about the course or if you'd like to attend our next course, please feel free to visit Hopkins org slash peace education. For more information.
