His presentation is part of a symposium titled "The Birth of Heart Surgery: Lessons from the 'Blue Baby' Operation" presented by All Children's Hospital Johns Hopkins Medicine. During this symposium, a panel of international experts explored the birth of pediatric heart surgery and chronicled the first successful repair of tetralogy of Fallot, a devastating heart malformation once deemed universally fatal. They also reviewed the pathology, diagnosis, incidence, treatment and prognosis of tetralogy of Fallot.
