Rebecca Ruebner Receives American Journal of Kidney Diseases Editors’ Choice Award

Rebecca Ruebner, a pediatric nephrologist at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center and a professor of pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, has received an American Journal of Kidney Diseases Editors’ Choice Award for her work “Epidemiology and Risk Factors for Hemodialysis Access-Associated Infections in Children: a Prospective Cohort Study from the SCOPE Collaborative,” which was published in the journal’s August 2022 issue. Ruebner cares for children with kidney disease and is the Children’s Center’s medical director of pediatric dialysis. Her clinical research focuses on care and outcomes for children with chronic and end-stage kidney disease. The work published in the journal, which focuses on an initiative to reduce dialysis-associated infections, was one of five recent recipients of the Editors’ Choice Award, which recognizes outstanding articles.
