Neonatal Research Overview - W. Christopher Golden, M.D.

Christopher Golden, medical director of the newborn nursery, discusses his collaborative research with other specialties at Johns Hopkins. By caring for newborns in the nursery, they are able to investigate physiologic and biologic parameters that may be useful in understanding diseases that affect healthy newborns. In a joint effort with gynecology/obstetrics and neurobiology, they are investigating the effects of COVID-19 exposure on mothers and babies, and there is a collaborative research effort with the pediatric heart center for a remote cardiac monitoring project. Additionally, Dr. Golden is working with the Department of Radiology and Radiologic Science to develop a novel MRI pulse sequence.
